Patrick was many things to many people. 

Youngest child to his parents Herman and Alida. Brother to Raymond, Fess, Theo, Monica, Michelle, Jozette and Gabrielle. Brother-in-law and uncle to their families and children. Partner to Nicola. Friend and colleagues to many. Doctor to his patients.

Over the years, he was at times a dairy farmer, farm labourer, ambulance officer, paramedic student, researcher, doctor and educator. He could also turn his hand to being a cooker, a builder, a mechanic, a gardener, and an IT technician. 

He enjoyed a beer and a glass of shiraz, a flat white and a croissant, an eclectic range of music, watching ruby and cricket, programming his computer, cooking up a storm, and the company of friends.

He had integrity and an insightful and inquiring mind that wanted to know how the world worked. He was kind, caring, and compassionate. He took pride in his work and was generous with his time. He was cheeky, witty and liked to sit things up a bit.

He was dearly loved and will be sadly missed.
